Radiators by engine
In short
TECS Engineering designs and manufactures remote and V-type radiators for MTU diesel and gas generator sets. They are used where the radiator cannot sit on the set itself, as in data centers, hospitals and plant rooms, and each one is designed for its engine and its site.
MTU generator sets are a common choice for data center and hospital backup power, where the sets stand inside a building or a container and the radiator has to stand outside, on a roof or in a yard.
TECS Engineering designs the remote radiator for each set and each site, so the engine stays cool on the day the grid fails.
Why A Remote Radiator
A set-mounted radiator needs a large flow of air through the generator room. A remote radiator takes the cooling outside, so the room needs only ventilation air and the noise of the radiator fans stays away from the building.
Data Centers With Many Sets
Large data centers run many MTU sets side by side. V-type radiators put more cooling on the same roof or yard, and the layout is planned so the units do not take each other's warm air.
Ready For The Worst Day
A backup set must carry its full load in the worst weather of the year. The radiator is designed for that day and for the cooling data the engine maker gives.
Quiet Operation
Fans that slow down when the load allows keep the sound level low, and the sound limit of the site is part of the design from the start.
What TECS Engineering Delivers
- Radiator designed for the engine and the site
- Manufacturing in our own factory
- Factory testing before shipment
- Complete documentation with every unit
- Support from enquiry to start-up
What To Send With An Enquiry
- The engine type and how many engines the site has
- The engine maker's cooling data sheet, if you have it
- Where the radiators will stand and the conditions of the site
- The sound limit and where it is measured
- The power supply for the fans and any space limit
Questions We Are Often Asked
Do you make radiators for MTU Series 2000 and Series 4000 sets?
Yes. Each radiator is designed for the engine it cools and for the site, whether one set or many.
Can one radiator serve a set inside a container?
Yes. The radiator can stand on the container roof or beside it, connected to the engine by its own pipework.
Is TECS Engineering part of MTU or Rolls-Royce?
No. TECS Engineering is an independent radiator manufacturer. MTU is a trademark of Rolls-Royce Power Systems and is used here only to name the engines our radiators cool.
What do you need for a quotation?
The engine type, the engine maker's cooling data, where the radiator will stand, the site conditions and the sound limit. With that we prepare the proposal.
