More Cooling On Less Ground
Two coils set in a V under a common fan deck give close to twice the coil surface of a flat unit on the same plot. Where a plant needs many units in a row, this keeps the cooling yard short and the pipe runs compact.
V-type radiators
A V-type radiator combines two inclined coils under a common row of top-mounted fans. The arrangement carries large capacities on a short footprint and suits power plants, data centers and chiller free cooling where many units stand side by side.
TECS designs every V-type unit for its own duty, ambient and sound limit, as a single-circuit unit or with the LT and HT circuits of an engine in one frame.

Units that stand side by side influence each other: warm air leaving one unit can return to the inlet of the next. The layout, the spacing and the airflow are checked together with the duty, so the bank delivers its capacity on the hottest day of the year.
EC fans with integrated speed control run slower at part load and at night, which saves power and lowers the sound level. AC fans with external speed control are available where the site specification asks for them.
A common galvanised or painted steel frame carries both coils, the fan deck, the headers and the junction boxes, with lifting points for the crane. Connections, expansion tank, level switch and control panel are fitted at the factory, so the unit is connected and started on site in a short time.
When the plot is small or many units have to stand in a row. For a single unit with enough space, a horizontal radiator is often simpler and lower in cost.
The construction is the same. The name usually follows the application: radiator for engine cooling, dry cooler for process, HVAC and data center circuits.
Yes. The two circuits are built into one frame with separate headers and connections.
The heat to be rejected or the engine model, the coolant and its glycol content, the flow rate or the inlet and outlet temperatures, the design ambient temperature and altitude, the sound limit with its distance, and any space limit. An engine manufacturer's datasheet covers most of it.
